Curatorial Work

Exhibitions

Nearly 20 years of exhibitions built around a point of view. Danielle develops each project from the first curatorial idea through artist selection, interpretation, installation and public engagement — with particular strength in environmental, socially engaged and community-centered subjects.

2026

  1. Matrix Multiplied: Hybrid Approaches to PrintmakingFebruary 21 – August 2, 2026

    Oceanside Museum of Art

Hybrid printmaking sits at the intersection of historic techniques such as intaglio, relief, lithography and screen printing, and contemporary technologies such as digital printing, laser cutting and engraving, photomechanical intaglio and risograph printing. This convergence expands the practice and empowers artists to explore printmaking in innovative and unexpected ways. Matrix Multiplied features 18 artists who reimagine conventional notions of printmaking through hybrid approaches. Many works combine two or more printmaking techniques, blending traditional methods with digital technologies, or incorporate other media such as collage and drawing to create multi-dimensional artworks.

2021

  1. Peaceful Planet: Inclusionary Visions on our Changing EnvironmentNovember – December 2021

    Encinitas Public Library

Peaceful Planet is inspired by the term intersectional environmentalism — the idea that nature and racial justice are intertwined. Artists were invited to use an upcycled surfboard donated by Rerip to create a new work of art that comments on this theme, or on their connection to the ocean as a way to inspire, heal or ground themselves during times of chaos and complexity. Using symbols, metaphors and mythical narratives, artists express their feelings about the environment and the importance of living a peaceful and equitable life in harmony with nature.

  1. Endangered: Exploring California's Changing EcosystemJanuary 11 – March 8, 2019

California Center for the Arts, Escondido

An interactive and educational exhibition, Endangered brings greater awareness to current environmental issues in California. With more biodiversity and imperiled plants and animals than any other region in North America, California is being challenged by climate change, human population expansion, habitat fragmentation, land development and pollution. Working with artists, local scientists, students and eco-conscious organizations, this exhibition presents evidence of the dramatic changes happening in our local environment and encourages dialogue on how the public can participate in finding and implementing positive solutions.
